HumanCare programmes are implemented and expected to be implemented with guidance from HumanCare Five Years Strategic Plan 2015-2019.

HumanCare strategic plan encompasses six strategic areas from which every intervention is implemented and expected to be implemented .Simply these strategic areas, are the road map for HumanCare. The following are the strategic areas of HumanCare:-

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 1: CHILDREN PROTECTION

HumanCare defines a child as a person aging from zero (0) to seventeen (17) years, simply any person who is under eighteen years old. Similar perspective is used by UNICEF and Tanzania Child Act of 2009.

Under Child Protection Program programme, HumanCare undertakes interventions with focus on  ensuring child protection through identification, Prevention and Rescuing or responding to any unsafe circumstance to child welfare .These interventions are very important because several findings show that the majority of children are the victims of  child sexual abuse/exploitation, child neglect  ,Child trafficking, Child disabilities , lack of parental care/alternative care  ,Child in police custody or detention, Street children ,Children of parents in prison or custody ,Children in judicial proceedings ,Children in or at risk of poverty ,Missing children (e.g. runaways, abducted children, unaccompanied children going missing) ,Children affected by custody disputes, including parental child abduction ,Children left behind (by parents who move to another area or country),Child victims of female genital mutilation or forced marriage ,Children who are not in compulsory education or training or working children below the legal age for work ,Child victims of bullying or cyber bullying.

In order to create a Country in which all children can have a humane existence and can grow up to be independent adults, the following goals   are expected to be met by HumanCare:

 

 

1ST GOAL: WIDEN SPACES FOR CHILD SELF EXPRESSION

 

Overall focus on this goal is widening spaces and   giving capacity  to children on proper ways of expressing their concerns and demanding their rights. Experience shows that if children are mentored well and given skills on how to express their concerns are able to fulfill their responsibilities and demand their rights in the manner that is legally and morally accepted. In order to achieve this goal, HumanCare will undertake the following interventions

Formation of  Children Assembly

Children Assembly also known as “Children Bunge” is expected to increase freedom of speech among the children bring together children from different villages and share their views at ward, District, regional and National level by representing their colleagues.

Formation of Young Reporters Networks

In order to ensure children voice to be heard, HumanCare will engage children in media by providing them skills on how to prepare programs and reporting through radio and Televisions. HumanCare will also collaborate with existing Young Reporters Networks for the sake of sharing experiences.

2ND GOAL

“INCREASEDCHILDREN ACCESS TO QUALITY EDUCATION”

In order to achieve this goal, HumanCare undertakes the following interventions:-

1   Formation of Early Childhood Development (ECD centers)

Since findings show that, most of the children who are enrolled in grade one are unable to show even very minimal ability to read and write. Grade one becomes the starting point of everything. Despite the fact that the situation is generally worse but children from poor families, children with poor parental care and children with disabilities are the ones at high risk. Therefore HumanCare will advocate for formation of Early Childhood Development Centres for the sake of providing education service to pre primary children.Meanwhile HumanCare will focus on advocating for conducive environment for available Pre-Primary Education.

 

 

3RD GOAL

  IMPROVE THE SURVIVAL, HEALTH & WELBEING OF ALL CHILDREN”

1  Empowering and supporting  Children with special needs

2  Protecting children from Abuse, Violence and exploitation

3  Advocating for better health for children

4  Advocating  for reduction of teenage pregnancy

5  Advocating for improvement of Nutrition for children

6  To reduce teenage pregnancies

7 To improve hygiene and sanitation in schools and health facilities  for children

8 To protect infants from HIV

 

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 2: EDUCATIONAL IMPROVEMENT

In order for beneficiaries from education services to acquire quality education, there are several conditions which are very important to be adhered. For the sake of children and adult to access quality education, learning environment must be friendly to learners.

Learning environment plays crucial role to acquisition of quality education, most of the Tanzanian Primary and Secondary schools faces the problem in terms of infrastructures, teaching materials, skills of teachers, government and community accountability to educational improvement.

For the sake of taking part in educational improvement, HumanCare strategized to ensure the following after five years.

1ST GOAL:

“INCREASEDCHILD ACCESS TO QUALITY   EDUCATION”

 In order to achieve this goal, HumanCare undertakes the following interventions:-

1  Advocating for availability of sufficient learning materials

2  Advocating for conducive  learning infrastructures

3  Advocate for children access to food during school hours

4  Empowering teachers on proper teaching methodology

5  Ensuring good teacher-pupils relation

6 Formation  and strengthening  PTAs

7  Strengthening capacity of  School committees

8  Advocating for community participation on education improvement
