HumanCare Organization originated from Rungwe Natives University Students Association (RUNUSA) in 2010.Students who were pursuing their studies at University of Dar es salaam with originality of Rungwe District formed their association with focus on ensuring unity among them and supporting efforts of excelling academic in their respective wards in Rungwe district.
In 2012 RUNUSA members managed to organize volunteer program whereby, by the time RUNUSA was extended to other universities. The team of six volunteer managed to teach by volunteering in three ward schools in Busokelo District Council in Mbeya (Isange Secondary School, Kisegese Secondary School and Lufilyo Secondary School).
Due to lack of succession plan, after graduating some of the founders, RUNUSA initiatives ceased. With similar vision of taking part in education improvement, graduates who were RUNUSA members organized and decided to form Marafiki wa Elimu Mbeya/Mbeya Friends of Education (MEM/MFE), by the time Marafiki wa Elimu Mbeya/Mbeya Friends of Education(MEM/MFE) was gaining fame which encouraged founders to think about registering as an Organization.
In 2013 while making attempt of Registering Marafiki wa Elimu Mbeya/Mbeya Friends of Education (MEM/MFE) was found that the movement was too limited in terms of scope and areas of strategy.
Founders of MEM/MFE were by then in different parts of Tanzania. The team of founders decided to extend the scope by thinking about covering the whole country so that whoever thought of taking part would take part.
In 2014 the team of founders of MEM/MFE met and agreed on forming an organization with similar focus. Eventually HumanCare Organization was agreed to be the name of an organization to replace Marafiki wa Elimu Mbeya/Mbeya Friends of Education (MEM/MFE) .
In 2014 HumanCare took part in educating girls in Kahama about early pregnancies, environmental conservation initiatives and other small scale interventions. HumanCare team faced hurdles to conduct some interventions due to being not legally recognized.
In January 2015,members of HumanCare organized the meeting and agreed on registering their proposed organization. Apart from being at grass root, still the vision was to operate in Tanzania mainland. Therefore agreement was to register at National level as Non Profit making organization, Non Government.
On 16th March 2015 HumanCare was registered under Tanzanian NGO Act No.24 of 2002 at Ministry of Community Development, gender and children with registration number 00NGO/00007855 that the oversaid organization shall operate in accordance with its governing Constitution.
HumanCare is expected to operate in Tanzania Mainland through the following zones.
