Funders:

1. Social Action Trust Fund - Tanzania and American rganization

4. Tanzania Forest Fund (TFF) - Tanzania Forest Fund is a Conservation Trust Fund (CTF) established to provide stable and long term source of funding for sustainable conservation and management of forest resources in Tanzania

1. The Social Action Trust Fund (SATF) supports activities and materialistic supplies related to the education of orphans vulnerable children (OVC's). Furthermore, SATF tries to incorporate cross-cutting issues such as: Advocacy, Gender and institutional development.

Activities from KIDI with SATF:

Introducing the project to the targeted community
Identify OVC's in each school

Short-listing the most vulnerable children to be incorporated in the project

Support of the selected children for signing registration form.

Purchase the scholastic materials and pay school fees for Secondary and Vocational students

Make follow-up of the supported children

Communication with various stakeholders on issues related to the challenges

Conduct assessment for Psychosocial Care and Support for MVCs at each school

Organize and conduct meetings that involve guardians, MVCs parents, local leaders and teachers

2. Stromme Foundation (SF) concentrates on two thematic areas: Microfinance and education.

SF supports its partners who are primary local churches and community NGOs and Microfinance Institutions in their work.

Activities from KIDI with SF:

Construction of classrooms in Primary Schools

Construction of kitchen rooms in Primary Schools

Construction of Pit Latrines at Primary Schools

Construction of Teachers Houses

Board meetings

Local Resource Mobilizaionactivities

Providing sports and games facilities

Developing water sustainability

Community Managed Microfinance (CMMF). The project will use local mobilized savings as a source of capital which is owned by its memebers and all interest earning accrued to it.

Overal goal of CMMF Project is to improve the rural people's ability to take part in all steps of development and fight poverty.

3. The foundation for Civil Society (FCS) will support activities in four major areas:

Participation in policy development and implementation;
enhancing good governance and civil rights; promotion of safety nets and support to the vulnerable; strengthening lobbying, advocacy and networking abilities of Community Social Organizations (CSO).

Activities from KIDI with FCS:

Organizing and conducting a district stakeholder's workshop, aim to disseminate baseline survey findings and improve common understanding provided by MKUKUTA (National Strategy for Poverty Reduction in Tanzania)

Advocating for effective implementation of MKUKUTA, Budget trekking and resource allocation from National level

Organizing and conducting seminars in 14 rural marginalized wards

Organizing and carrying community meetings in 14 wards concerning public dialogue initiatives to reduce poverty in their respective communities. Besides, lobbying and advocating for rural communities participation the process of MKUKUTA implementation

Monitoring and evaluation of the project organize seminars in district to assess the training impact. Community development officer, District water Engineer, District planner and the Education Department participate

4. Tanzania Forest Fund (TFF)

Tanzania Forest Fund is a Conservation Trust Fund (CTF) established to provide stable and long term source of funding for sustainable conservation and management of forest resources in Tanzania

Main activities from TFF

  • Training on participatory forest management and environmental conservation
  • Formation of forest management committees and their networks at ward and village levels
  • Formation of Beekeeping groups and support 100 people with beehives to engage in beekeeping
