OUR RECENT PROJECTS
Bora kesho project
"Bora kesho" is a swahili words which means "Better Tomorrow"; we provide FREE PRE-FORM ONE EDUCATION to standard 7 students once they finish standard 7 to prepare them to join Form one.
Scholarships project
We sponsor primary and secondary school students. We understand that without a secondary school education a young person in Tanzania stands little chance of ever being fully employed. Completing secondary school gives young people the opportunity to continue on to university, find work as teachers, police, military, or complete vocational training. Having educated youth will also contribute to the economic development of Tanzania.
Sponsoring a LESCOTA Scholar will forever change his or her life. Each of our students is at the top of his or her class and has no way to pay for school without your help. Your contribution also gives hope to his or her community and makes a lasting contribution to the growth of one of the most underserved areas of the world.
Through letters and other communication, you will have the unique opportunity to build a personal relationship with the student you sponsor. We encourage this type of interaction because it enriches your student’s experience and strengthens your connection to him or her.
Sponsorship covers a student’s tuition fees, school supplies, uniforms, and medical expenses. All of this costs only $150 (US Dollars) per year. We ask that sponsors make a 4-year commitment to a student, providing support through his or her completion of secondary school.
LESCOTA community library project
"...Books are a very important way to knowledge and to self-improvement; from them we can learn new ideas; new techniques of working and new methods. We can learn about the development of men in all its different aspects; we can broaden our understanding of other peoples and even of ourselves. All the experiences of mankind, all his discoveries and his inventions can be learned about through reading. And the provision of a National Library Service in Tanzania means that this knowledge is made available to all our literate citizens and through them to people who have not yet learned to read."
