- GENESIS.
- HISTORY AND BACKGROUND.
A year ago people across the country recognize the importance of endowing with personal over haul to the community especially child development in manual aid with other civic-minded ,good moral character and reputation person through voluntary organization after glimpse the whole bunch of problem that child one facing today.
The development of child has been one of the fundamental features of Tanzanian ancient philosophy. The most important aspect of solving these problems facing child these is the need for a good child development policy.
Hence this led to the formation of the “Bright light Organization” as for line of work within the field of child development that is non- profit ,non- trade , non- religious, non- political and non-government organization and believes that development of child is an indispensable human right. BLF is a registered community based organization of (CBO) under the community based organization act with registration NO: CBO.0001121 accessible by the Geita District Council early 2012.
- ORGANISATION BELIEFS.
Child developmental activities touch almost all sectors of development. In order to successfully implement child Activities, relevant sector should incorporate child issue in their sectorial policies, programmers and projects and together with that we should participate in the implementation of child development. Sector most relevant to child development include, Education, Health,land natural resources, finance,communication, Socialservices, private companies, civil society organization communities and families.
- OUR APPROACH TO CHILD DEVELOPMENT.
There are billions of children between the Ages of 0 – 18 years living in the world today. This represents the longest global child cohort in history, with roughly many of child residing in the developing world. Child people make up well over half of the national population in many countries.
In Tanzania, a country with 44.9 million people among them are children aged 0 – 18 year. It’s a big group and it is growing!
Despite their sizeable presence, children are surprisingly underserved and under engaged demographically.

- (i) Peer Education and Mentorship: Peer Education utilize an already established means of sharing information and children tend to identify with their peers and consider them to be credible sources of information
(ii) Workshops and Conference: BLF’s workshops and conferences help to support expanded. Access to information and skills training providing opportunity for stakeholder gathering and net working as well as creating professional prospects for local specialist and community leaders.
(iii) Sport: BLF uses strengths or assets based approach to child engagement. Organized sports and games is often one of few previously established child activities. Sport has proven an effective means of child engagement for BLF promoting inclusion amongst child helping to address discrimination and marginalization for reasons of gender, religion, ability, ethnicity and disability as well as providing an avenue for leadership, life skills and advocacy training through teamwork and collaboration.
(iv) Technology, Popular Culture and Multimedia:
Popular culture is the child medium. The Bright light organization has effectively acclimatized new developments in technology and multimedia, conceding its powerful potential for child engagement. Also implements multimedia production such as short films, songs of children rights and small scale documentary our volunteer placement program.
(v) Edutainment:BLF recognizes edutainment as a widely accessible and interactive medium that engender specific social cultural altitudes in engaging, expressive and informative exercises that are uniquely child based. Through drum circles, hip hop and dance, to role-playing and theatre programming. Organization aims to develop exciting new models for child engagement through edutainment programming.

Bright light Organization covers its operations within the boundaries of United Republic of Tanzania particularly in Geita District. The Head office is allocated at General Tire street along Geita Gold Mine road. In next to no time organization will open its branches in Geita town.

To promote life skills and social accountability among community concern child development relations to enhance the realization of their goals through child clubs training workshops conferences, services as children daily meal, scholastic materials, Food, shelter, psychosocial support, Health Insurance and so on.

- To help and support orphans, widows, and needy children by creating a platform to achieve their needs and advocating for their rights.
- To promote formal /informal education among vulnerable children and functional adults literacy to widows and people with disabilities.
- To provide advocacy and mobilization for HIV/AIDS education in communities.
- To contribute towards the improvement of nutritional status of the community with special emphasis on support less children and mothers.
- To fight poverty through training and acquisition of skills in agriculture, art and craft making, animal rearing, poultry farming and forming village saving and loan groups with a view of promoting self – reliance and reducing dependence.
- To limit the spread of sexually transmitted infections through counseling public awareness, through music, dance and drama campaigns on abstinence and promotion of virginity.
- Strategic Focus Area.
(i)Education: Involves provision of school fees for most vulnerable children, proving children and community with social accountability awareness and human rights education.
(ii) Economic: Involves establishing and provision of services in food, Clothes, Shoes, Soap and scholastic materials.
(iii)Health: Involve in Health insurance for child in order to combat disease like Malaria, HIV/AIDS, health counseling and psychosocial support for women and children. Provision of Nutrition and ARVs for children who are HIV positive.
(iv) Social: Involves improving the capacity of the community families and other stakeholder’s children due to awareness of child development.
(v)Environment:Involve initiating programs concern mass awareness on Environment and Environmental conservation due to child development.

Bright Light Organization strategy has a strong emphasis on child and community development as whole. This is a trend which has been established in the successive plans for its existence.

- MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
- ORGANISATIONAL MANAGEMENT.
The constitution of BLF has been given the supreme authority of the organization to the board of Directors who approves budgets and major policy amendments. The day to day running of the organization is overseen by the Executive Directors with the assistance on the Heads of Departments and Managers.
The BLF Organization structure will be updated to reflect both ist new strategy and also to assist with development of good management and leadership practices. The structure determines chain of command and hierarchy of responsibility within BLF.
According to the organization constitution, the general meeting is the highest decision making organ approving policies and reviewing achievement and plans. The board of Directors organization which controlling and approving all activities committee that is responsible for the implementation of the programs and daily management activities
However, in order to perform well various organizational task and duties there are five (5) departments headed by respective managers these are:-
(i) Finance and Administration department
(ii)Development and Research department
(iii) Project and Programmer department
(iv) Legal department
(v) Subdivision department
- Financial Management
BLF has its own Executives Directors standing order which contains financial manual and procedures. The Executive Directors is responsible for maintaining and controlling the budget, allocation of overheads and for the preparation of financial report.
Financial management is placed under the Executive Directors who in consonance with the board of Directors and the executive committee organizes the activities and manages the finance with the staff of financial and manages or Accountant and clerical staff which includes every day filing of day – to – day expenditure, entry book and ledger which is scrutinized by Executive committee in its meetings. BLF maintains yearly budget under the various heads at present activities life education, economic activity, health care awareness activities, transportation and administration.
- Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation.
The purpose of the planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) unit in both departments is to provide effective support in regard to information, decision making and activities executed by the BLF personal. It consists of all heads of Department and has a critical role to play in increasing the effectiveness of BLF Program and projects. It is the unit responsible for facilitating and planning processes, tracking progress versus targets and assessing the effectiveness of activities. Although the PME department is not care in the sense of actually implementing development work at the field level, it is a vital support system to enable the care work to be done
It requires a continuous feedback loop with planning activities being adjusted in response to interpretation of evaluation studies. It is the central coordination point for all qualitative program related data. The information is collated which allows it to be used in an integrated manner, giving as view of the bigger picture. The information is reviewed monthly at all management level
