Introduction
Partnership for Sustainable Development Organization (PASUDO) is a non- governmental organization, non- political, non- religion, non- profit making organization founded in June, 2010 by twelve members. It consists of multidisciplinary team members who voluntary contribute their knowledge, experience and time in addressing different issues related to economic, social and environmental spheres of the local community
Focus Area
PASUDO is focused at assisting and working together with the local communities to address issues related to social development, economic development and environmental management including climate change. In doing so, the members of PASUDO are committed towards mobilizing the community members to use sustainably available community resources to improve their living standards and making their immediate social and environmental surroundings a better place to live
Objectives
Our objectives are centred on Social, Economic and Environmental Development
A. Social Development
1. Promote interventions aimed at developing social services such as health, water and education
2. Advocate for gender mainstreaming , gender equality and equity in community development projects
3. Raise awareness on community participation in community development projects
4. Provide education on HIV/AIDS, STDs, pandemic deiseases such as cholera, malaria and drug abuse to the community and mobilize the the community to fight the same
5. Advocate for ethical leadership, good governance and patriotism to promote peace and harmony in the communities through civic education
6.Improve and stimulate efforts to protect women and children against all types of abuse and promote gender equality and equity
7. Facilitate the establishment of community information and education resources centers
B. Econmic Development
8. To assist the communities to develop entrepreneurial skills aimed at generating income to reduce poverty and improve living standards through capacity building and technical support
9. To mobilize the communities to initiate savings and credit facilities where community members can seek for financial assistance
10. To assist and advise the local communities on market support services for their products like crops, fish, bee products, livestock etc for increased income through competitive prices
11. To assist the local communities on value addition to their products for increased income through competitive prices
C. Environment and Climate Change
12. To assist the communities in developing and designing interventions to conserve the natural forests, wetland areas and water sources through provision of environmental education and awareness creation
13. To improve the livelihoods of forest-dependent communities through sustainable collaborative management in the specific forest areas
14. To promote interventions that contribute to improved natural forest conservation like land use planning, bee keeping, afforestation and reforestation, establishment of tree nurseries, energy saving stoves etc
15. To improve the understanding of climate change impacts for poor communities in including both policy makers and poor groups through climate change awareness and education
16. To improve the sustainable livelihoods opportunities of poor communities in light of possible climate change impacts
17. To strengthen the capacity of vulnerable communities to assess climate change risks and integrate adaptation into all aspects of national planning
18. To provide assistance to the communities in times of disasters, for example, drought, floods, famine in designing adaptation strategies etc
19. To advocate, empower and enable vulnerable communities to adapt to climate change by building resilience through investments in social protection, health, education and other measures
20. To advocate climate change education campaigns programmes and initiate behavioral change on environmental degradation and destruction of poverty alleviation to grass root communities to enhance better livelihoods to meet the millennium Goals
21. To educate communities on negative effects as the consequence of water pollution in various water sources such as lakes, rivers, wells and fountains e.t.c
22. To help local communities comprehend importance of natural vegetation cover, wild animals, marine creatures and enable them participate in their existence and generation
23. To provide and mainstream Climate Change education and support to local communities in fighting against various diseases such as HIV/AIDS, malaria, cholera, T.B e.t.c
24. To empower communities to eradicate poverty through sustainable utilization of natural resources to meet the Millennium Development Goals
25. To assist communities to develop and practice sustainable farming practices like contour cultivation, organic farming, terracing, agro forestry etc
