TULIPO is an organisational accronym abbreviation for the association of Tanzania Union of Liberal Persons' Organization founded in 2008 and certified registered on 19th January 2009 focusing on human rights knowledge sensitisation and engagements to especially the communitites in Tanzania with collaboration with Learning Institutions, Organizations, Associations, Centers, Individuals and International Development Partners at home and abroad. It's collaborative effort since its inception has had close dialogues with Association of Non Governmental Organisation in Zanzibar [ANGOZA]. An Active member of Partnership for Nutrition in Tanzania[PANITA], Having ongoing efforts at including the Association of Practising Organisational Practitioners in East Africa [APODEA] to assist with Organizational development and growth.
The journey since establishment has in truth not been an easy one since TULIPO's inception as financial mobilisation to operate has not been smooth or easy for that matter. To fundraise has been among the most difficult missions undertaken bith within the association itself as well as out of it for half the members I started with are blind or disable in one way or the other and the excuse when it ccame to paying fees is excuses of how hard the life and rising cost of living making them not heed to their otganizational duty of paying dues as members. Thence to even fetch them to concurr pertinent meetings or harness activity performance has not been as planned part of the opera mondus and upto now fundraising is a challenge that often its failure lays waste the organisation and what it can do to the communities. Fortunately the volunteerism accumen by the Executive especially the Chairman and the Secretary general with his Treasurer has steadily sustained the organization be at least participative in civil society developments in one way or the other. This is much appreciated as it shows our fellow civil society partners that we still exist and try to fuction.
Fundraisiing has been major pre occupation in 2013, 2014 and this year. Of all responses to ccall for proposals. Only one affirmation by ARBILIS of finland is to be implemented. Human resources(technical), Financial and material have been challenges that almost got TULIPO be abandoned as members seek for greener pastures. Many in this direction took up further training to enhance their skills and after graduation do get placed somewhere else and promise to return after graduation or internship. .
2015 was a good year as PANITA, APODEA, COMMISSION OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND GOOD GOVERNANCE AND INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS PROMISE TO INTERVENE APPROPRIATELY TO HAVE MISSION AND VISION REALISED WITHIN BOTH SHORT AND LONG TERM STRATEGIES.
TULIPO IS ALSO MAKING A MECHANISM TO FINANCE PROJECTS LOCALLY SO THAT WE DO NOT HALT ACTIVITIES AT PROJECT END OR CLOSE BUT INSTEAD HAVE SUSTAINABLE EFFORTS AT DEVELOPMENT AND GROWTH.
IT IS FORESEEN THAT ENTERPRENEAUL ACTIVITIES, MICRO ENTERPRISE WORK, LAND CULTIVATION AND ANIMAL HUSBANDRY9INCLUDING POULTRY0, CASH AND FOOD CROP HANDLING WILL ATLEAST GEAR MEMBERS TO SOME INCOME GET STATUS
