MISSION

We emphasize and encourage disabled People to secure assets to meet their livelihoods.

MAJOR PURPOSE

To contribute to socio-economic development of disadvantaged persons, people with disabilities in particular both from rural and urban communities of Tanzania by helping them recognize and advocate the shared responsibilities between them, development partners and the government in initiating and supporting their development initiatives and programmes leading to sustainable development and poverty eradication.

OBJECTIVES

The specific objectives of which the Organization is established are as follow;

 i. To highlight the hidden issues of disabilities in Tanzania by Creating awareness, advocacy and offer advice on how to handle varied situations.

ii.To support the teachers, professionals and paraprofessionals through workshops and seminars on the issues related to disabilities and education.

 iii.To bring together parents/guardians of children with disabilities for the aim of sharing experience skills and knowledge on how to handle challenges facing their disadvantaged children.

 iv. To create awareness to the community and disabled People on the need for education.

v.To advocate people with disabilities to have self employment activities and support their initiatives.

vi.To mobilize people with disabilities to participate in political election.

vii.To train people with disabilities on life skills, reproductive health, HIV/AIDs prevention and intervention.

viii.Support people with disabilities to access financial services and start income generating activities through entrepreneurship training.

ix.To establish the training centre to enhance self help to people with disabilities.

 x.To provide education, conduct meeting, workshops, seminars, classes and other similar events to the society on how to prevent the increase of people with disabilities.

 xi.To help people with disabilities acquire land for economic activities and for decent housing to meet their livelihood.

 xii.To create awareness to the people with disabilities on the Global climatic changes and sustainable development in both rural and urban areas

xiii.To provide training on sports activities and related matters to the people with disabilities.

 xiv.To receive educational and movement support equipments from donors and stake holders and supply them to people with disabilities as the need required.

xv.To provide special language training (sign languages and paralanguage skills used for disabilities) to government and private institutions, particularly to those which offer social services to the community.eg health, police, legal etc.

 xvi.To work with the government of the United Republic of Tanzania, Government agencies, Donor Organizations, non-governmental organizations and any other institution to enhance the achievement of aims and objectives of TAEDP.
