LINK AGAINST POVERTY updated its History page.

LAP is an acronym of LINK AGAINST POVERTY. It is non profit making organization. It was established on 08/08/2008 and registered in 2011 under registration no. NGO/ 00005100

As the name sounds, this organization is dealing with fighting against poverty and diseases also environmental protection /conservation and management.

Vision.                                                                                                                       The vision Statement of LAP is; To have a free Poverty Comunity in Tanzania.

MissionTheMission Statement of LAP is creation of an enabling environment where by poverty Reduction activities and other stake holder can work together to make a lasting impact on poverty alleviation in Tanzania Society.

THE OBJECTIVES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE ORGANIZATION INCLUDE:

  1. To establish, Organize and unite all Public and Community Members of all kinds including low, middle and high levels of income generating groups, in protecting public environment.
  2. To Promote Environment Development, Protection and Conservation in Tanzania by all means.
  3. To fight against poverty, HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria, care and support to the People Living with HIV/AIDS.
  4. To teach groups to overcome Poverty by doing Environmental activities such as planting trees, cleaning beaches, markets, schools etc, to protect water resources and prevent unnecessary of cutting trees in rural areas.  
  5. To engage on women’s legal rights such as education rights (to be educated and employed), inheritance to widows, family planning, fight against genital mutilation, fight against all unsafe traditional taboos etc.
  6. To conduct researches on poverty reduction strategies, HIV/AIDS, environmental protection etc.
  7. To reduce the effects of HIV/AIDS/TB and Malaria to improve counseling skills on HIV/AIDS, TB and related issues.
  8. To promote use of cultural and African manner in fighting against the moral decay and Diseases such as HIV/AIDS, TB, and Malaria.
  9. To seek, identify and promote use of appropriate and high technologies in all kinds and levels of conservation for the benefit of members both at the local level and countywide.
  10. To promote the human talents so as to foster development of natural resources while ensuring its sustainability.
  11. To organize and conduct conferences, seminars and workshops to educate people, groups organization, institution etc
  12. To organize and carry out the work of planting tree and to volunteer in assisting Cleaning Beaches, Markets, Streets etc.
  13. To organize youths into groups that may undertake conservation activities at the same time doing some economic community development.
  14. To engage and educate in promoting public activities.
  15. To help youths to create activities, this can be done in their own areas by utilizing natural resources available in their areas.
  16. To see that our sanitary, toilets, streams (hygienic) in our environments prevents disaster such as chlorella, malaria etc.
  17. To organize and conduct training course workshop, seminars and conferees, locally, nationally and internationally on behalf of other organization including professions and instituted.
  18. To help youths to Create activities which will lead them into employment, this can be done in their own areas by utilizing natural resources available in their own area.
  19. To effectively contribute and participate to national initiative in fighter against poverty and improving economic power from family to the national level.
  20. To teach groups whom they can overcome poverty by doing environmental activities such as plating trees cleaning cities etc.
  21. To improve economic empowerment and the same time reduce /eradicate poverty through infrastructure, management environments, and communications.
  22. To bring good standard of life through providing essential services of life such as Education, Health, Water and services for agricultural and husbandry.

SOME FEW ASSIGNMENTS DONE IN MANYONI DISTRICT BY LINK AGAINST POVERTY- LAP:

a)     Doing research for Transparency International of Kenya during East Africa Bribery Index in 2010, The project was Conducted by Transparency International of Kenya and Development Initiative in Africa (forDIA) of Tanzania.

 

b)    Training people during voter education project, In 5 Wards of Itigi, Manyoni, kilimatinde, solya and Mhalala in Manyoni District. The project was Conducted by Development Initiative in Africa (forDIA) & Deloite in 2010 before general election.

 

c)     Doing research for Transparency International of Kenya during Corruption Perception Survey in 2011. The project was Conducted by Transparency International of Kenya and Development Initiative in Africa (forDIA) of Tanzania.

d)    Doing research Training and campaigning for Habit change in the course of  

         Fostering environmental conservation in Dsm and districts of Kongwa, Bahi,  

         and Chamwino in Dodoma Region. Financed by DAWOSEN Trust Fund of  

         Dsm) in 2011

 e)     Doing research for UWEZO TZ during – National Survey on learning outcomes among    

         Tanzanian children in 2012 to 2015 in Districts of Manyoni, Singida Rural, Municipal and  

         Ikungi
