VNS is trans-boundary organization in East Africa that works to conserve nature through Volunteers. The organization was founded in 2013 by a team of 13 VSO-Jitolee Returned International Volunteers from East Africa who shared a common goal of employing their knowledge and skills gained through international volunteering to conserve nature back home (in East Africa).
The organization currently works in Uganda and Tanzania; however there is a plan to expand outreach to Kenya, Rwanda and South Sudan.
VNS develops and implements a range of programme activities aimed at conserving nature and building sustainable livelihoods for communities in Africa. The current programmes include:
- Conservation and Development;
- Climate Change Resiliency and Disaster Risk Management; and
- Education, Awareness and Advocacy.
