Learn to Serve Community of Tanzania (LESCOTA) updated its Volunteer page.

We are currently looking for skilled and qualified volunteers to aid LESCOTA's projects. The placements are at least two weeks in duration, and will require your support out in the field. Building the capacity of the communities we support is at the very core of our placements, and it is important to match your valuable skill set with the projects that will benefit from them the most. LESCOTA placements are exciting and rewarding, and a fantastic way to utilise your skills whilst leaving a lasting impact.

We have a range of projects that will benefit from your skills, and we always strive to tailor placements to match your skills, meet community needs and maximise the effectiveness of your time. It is important to LESCOTA, the communities that we work with, and to you, that we are putting the right skills in the right places. Get in touch if you would like to use your experiences in a rewarding environment. Have a look at our current placement opportunities:

  • Teacher Training. Education can suffer due to a lack of staff, resources and training. Teacher training will share new techniques and skills that can make teaching more inclusive, interesting and stimulating. If you are a qualified teacher or currently in teacher training, we would love to share your knowledge and ideas with the staff and teachers on our projects.

  • Project Evaluation. Monitoring and Evaluation is vital to the success of our projects. Gathering research, feedback and information can let us know what communities need, how projects are running and whether communities are on the road to self-sustainability. LESCOTA’s projects are about building long term capacity for self-sustainability, and finding the right information can make a huge difference. Research experience is very valuable to us and can in turn open doors to fieldwork research, or even for your own academic research, so get in touch if you would like to work on the ground to report back to LESCOTA.

  • Construction and mural. LESCOTA have the number of projects related to the construction of buildings, nursary school classrooms and vital facilities. Volunteers with experience in building and mural can help to introduce innovative construction and mural techniques to communities and build capacity of mural and construction students, get in touch to share your skills and strength.

If we have inspired you to join the LESCOTA team, write us back to lescotanzania@gmail.com. We are excited to hear from you!
