Disability awareness
Many people have no information about disability issues, that’s why people with disability are facing discrimination and solation in the community. Because of these reasons, Songambele has decided to create awareness in the community so they will empower understand, accept and involve people with disability in the community. People with disability have much more to offer if given a chance to do so.
Education
Is design to enable children and women living with disabilities to acquire quality and affordable education so that they may become useful citizens of this nation.
Peer Group Training (PGT)
Peer Group Training (PGT) is the transfer of skills and information from experience and/or less empowered disabled people in their communities. This innovative rehabilitation approach, pioneered by disabled people, facilitates an improved quality of life through the promotion of health, mobility and independence.
Reproductive health and HIV/AIDS
It is right of girls and women with disability to be informed of and to have access to safe, effective, affordable and acceptable methods of fertility regulation of their choice, and the right of access to appropriate health care services that will enable women to go safely through pregnancy and childbirth and provide couples with the best chance of having a healthy infant.
Economic empowerment Initiatives
Songambele promotes the economic empowerment of women so that they can live independently as well as support their families. This is done through the establishment of income generation activities, creating access to small grants and credit schemes as well as equipping beneficiaries with basic skills to manage their own projects.
