Simon Mkina, Executive Chairman
Simon was appointed by the Tajoa Board of Directors to be Executive Chairman of the company in 2011. He has worked in the media ( journalist, a columnist and media strategist for various institutions) for 20 years, working both within Tanzania and internationally. He has served in all levels of media, starting as a curb reporter before working his way up to managing editor and CEO to several different media houses
Throughout his career, Simon has exclusively interviewed a number of renowned icons around the world, from presidents to artistes to academicians to spiritual images. He currently serves as chairman and member of various national and international journalism bodies and has received a number of acclaimed journalism awards. He has also written some books, including, Mwalimu Nyerere Hazina Tanzania (Nyerere: a treasure of Tanzania), Contemporary Journalism and Crying for my country (in press).
Fredy Kihwele, Deputy Chairman
Fredy works with Daraja Development Limited and is Tajoa's Deputy Chairman. He worked as a journalist before completing his first degree at Tumaini University in Iringa in 2008.
Fredy was the first community radio manager in Njombe before joining Daraja. For the past five years he has worked as a media practitioner to several companies.
Obeid Mashauri, Director
Obeid holds a degree in Community Development. He has worked as a correspondent and a columnist to various Tanzania newspapers. He has written and offers significant commentary towards community and political issues.
Obeid now works with Tanzania Citizen's Information Bureau as Associate Programme Manager.
Lonjino Mgalama, Director
Lonjino has worked in different media companies in Tanzania in the capacity of financial and accounting personnel. At Tajoa, Lonjino is helping to keep our finances clear.
Lilian Mkusa, Director and Secretary
Lilian is a graduate from Dar es Salaam University and has been involved in media circles, including reporting, writing, analysis and opinions. She has previously worked with HakiArdhi.
At TAJOA, Lilian is one of the directors as well as working as secretary, maintaining records of company's meetings and correspondences..
