Morlee Gugu Zawoo Sr.

Country Director and one of the founding members of NEPI Inc. Liberia

Morlee Gugu-zawoo, Sr., is a specialist in psychosocial intervention from post conflict context in dealing with vulnerable grouping – ex-combatants, hard core street youth, drugs addict, children and women affected by fighting forces (CAFF & WAFF) thereby, helping them socially reintegrate. Presently, he is a candidate of master at the Kofi Annan Institute of Conflict Transformation, University of Liberia.

Notwithstanding, he has contributed to the peace-building process in Liberia being the Country Director and one of the founders of the Network for Empowerment & Progressive Initiatives NEPI Inc. an organization dedicated to finding solution to poverty, peace-building, conflict management, reconciliation, and national development (www.nepi-liberia.org, nepilib@yahoo.com, gugu.zawoo@gmail.com ).  

His passion for peace-building extends to training, empowerment and transformation for vulnerable individuals and local communities in Liberia, as well as speaking engagements in Africa, Europe and America. He believes in the values and dignity of humanity through Training, Partnership, Networking, Empowerment, Commitment, Accountability, Productivity, Participation, Honesty, Trust, Accomplishment, Integrity, Creativity, Voluntarism and Hard Work.

Moreover, Zawoo had represented Liberia in National and International Peace Conferences in Guinea, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa and the United States. His role as a trauma counselor, lecturer and facilitator has impacted thousands of young people in Liberia, changing their lives and attitudes for a better tomorrow. His passionate emphasis is that anyone could change base on their willingness, decision and determination for Transformation. He's a man of vision and committment and above all an Agent of Change.


Klubosumo Johnson Borh, Chief Executive Officer - NEPI  Mr. Borh is one of the core founders and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Network for Empowerment and Progressive Initiative (NEPI). Mr. Borh is currently a Master’s Candidate at the Columbia University School of Social Work, concentrating in Social Enterprise Administration (SEA/Management Fellow Program) and Field of practice in International Social Welfare with an expected graduation date in May 2015.

Mr. Borh is currently an Intern at Columbia’s Earth Institute and working with the Eminyeeto program at the Millennium Villages Project developing and implementing program for the boys in Isingiro District in Uganda. Prior to his internship at the Millennium Village Project, He has work as a social work intern with the New York Department of Education.

Before starting his graduate program, Mr. Borh has worked as an experienced change agent with specific expertise in community development. Strong innovation, organizational skills and proven non-for-profit management ability. With training and development position utilizing over 10 years practice experiences and reputable performance, Mr. Borh have helped some of the poorest, most excluded and most violent youth in Liberia, West Africa.

Mr. Borh have contributed to the improvement of the lives of youth to become better people and citizens with focus on finding solution to extreme poverty, youth development, empowerment, and employment opportunities. He has strengthened community capacity for peace consolidation and fostering national reconciliation.

Over the years, Mr. Borh have developed competencies in non-for-profit management, human resource management, conflict management, financial management, program development, program management, strategic management, strategic planning, Program Evaluation, advocacy, project supervision, facilitation, dialogue, training, developing training, research methods.

Mr. Borh had a BSc Degree in Economics from the African Methodist Episcopal Zion University College, a diploma from the Advance International Training Program in Human Rights, Peace and Security sponsored by Sweden International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and implemented by Indevelop in Stockholm and Cambodia with several certificates in leadership, financial management and peace studies.

His work has taken him to Ghana, Nigeria, Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda in Africa, Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Cambodia, in Europe and Asia, Colombia in South America, and New York, Washington DC, Maryland, Philadelphia, Wisconsin and Minnesota within the United States.
