TASEA: Tanzania Students' Entrepreneurship Association
TASEA is a Non-governmental, non-political, non-religious, and non-profit organization which was officially registered in November, 2011 under section 12(2) of Act No. 24 of 2002 and legally recognised by the Tanzania Revenue Authority which issued TASEA's Tax Identification Number (TIN) 117-800-318.
The primary goal is to empower students at educational institutions through participatory approaches of enriching the youth with the culture of entrepreneurship.However the organisation provides entrepreneurship, business and project consultancies to different people other than students, especially youth, women, micro entrepreneurs, NGOs , Institutions and Companies.
Before it was registered as TASEA, the Organisation was formally known as TANZANIA CENTRE FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP.
MAJOR ACHIVEMENT:
1. Since 2011 to date, TASEA has trained over 1000 youth on Entreperneurship in Kilimanjaro Region
2. It has successfully being working in coordination with giant NGOs on matters of entrepreneurship and business. Such NGOs include Mkombozi Centre of Moshi, and African volunteers corps. Women entrepreneurs were trained.
3. The organization managed to promote skills of its office bearers by allowing its staff to successfully undertake causes on entreprenership and business. For instance four staff members were trained on PERSONAL ENTREPRENEURIAL COMPETENCES, the workshop which was jointly organise by EPRETECT/UNCTAD in collaboration with SIDO(Small industries Development Organisation) and TIC( Tanzania investment Centre)
4. It has been volunteering in many other community activities like education, health and environment.
5. It has created a good number of young entrepreners in Tanzania based on the trainings offered, capacity building and consultancy services
