PRETTY DEVELOPMENT FOR POVERTY REDUCTION (PDPR) updated its Volunteer page.

We receive volunteers from January to Decembe,

1) We need volunteers for creating HIV/AIDS,reproductive health, Drug abuse and STD'S awareness to primary and secondary school students and rural youth at Mtwango,Igima and Utengule area. volunteers will work together with local community development officers and HIV/AIDS committee.

2) We need volunteers who can work together with PDPR staffs and farmers groups at Itunduma village in project of Beekeeping, maize, Irish potatoes, sunflowers,   cattle keeping, to transform them from traditional to modern agriculture such as (Organic agriculture, agro business and green house)and to help them establishment of farm field school of fish for the aim of helping community to adopt from it.

3) We invite volunteers to work with children in Amani Orphans center located at Ilunda Village 10 km from PDPD office, cares children age 0 to 17, The volunteers lives at special house within the centers.

4) We need volunteers who can teach English, Physics, Biology and Chemist at Sovi secondary school and to teach English at Itunduma and Inyamalo primary school. our schools faces a shortage of teachers.

Extra position:

There volunteer position in our organization and schools at Njombe, wanging’ombe and mbalari district for teaching English, science, mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, sports, HIV/AIDs, Human rights, Entrepreneurships, micro enterprises, financial literacy, Computer and ICT, reproductive health issues, environmental conservation, sanitation, nutrition, leadership and gender issue to primary and secondary schools students, out of school and general communities.

Until now we have 10 positions of volunteers in our organization and 8 friends school have deficit of teachers especially in science, English, sports and mathematics as follows are name of secondary schools. Sovi, Kidugla Lutheran seminary, Mama Nyerere, Igwachanya, Maheve, Wende, Mont fort, Rujewa day, Genesis Makambako, Igumbilo girls and teaching English subject to Inyamalo, Itunduma and Lunguya primary schools. Volunteers who will placed in PDPR office will work in various projects according to their interest. Additional PDPR working with oversee volunteers at their home for running fundraising campaign on websites, social networks and preparing events.


ACCOMODATION
We have 9 bedrooms for volunteers which can accommodate up to 15 volunteers.
We have clean bathroom located next to the bedrooms.We provide clean and treated water for shower. Njombe is a cold area so volunteers may be supplied with warm water for shower if at all prefer warm water.We suggest volunteers to bring with them a sleeping bag,heavy sweaters or jackets. Also volunteers can live with hosting families.

LOGISTIC INFORMATION.

Volunteer can take a flight to Dar es Salaam international airport.From the airport we recommend to take a private transport to Ubungo bus terminal were buses to all regions in Tanzania starts. The charge from airport to Ubungo do not exceed $15. At Ubungo terminal we suggest to buy a ticket at Nyagawa Bus company to Njombe. The cost to Njombe from Dar  es salaam  do not exceed $20. Private transport could be organized from Dar to Njombe but cost much money which is estimated to be $450 the only advantage a volunteer will gain is to pass through Mikumi national park.
