v YOUNG REPORTERS NETWORKS
After giving trainings to children about their rights which include self expression right, children are expected to air out their views about what face them as the result of poor academic development, street children and other common challenges facing children. Media are claimed to be a centre where the majority of parents and society at large can get children’s voices timely.
v CHILDREN COUNCILS
MEM will establish Children’s councils in schools from primary school to secondary schools. Main reason for this is also to build capacity of self expression among the children as the way of giving them confidence and ability to demand their rights as well as participation in issues that affect their rights and lives.
v SEMINARS & WORKSHOPS
MEM will use seminars as the best way of giving skills to youth about entrepreneurship and skills about Reproductive health, Poverty and HIV/AIDS alleviation techniques
v PUBLIC DIALOGUES
MEM will organize public dialogues with focus on addressing for children rights, causes, effects and methods or ways of controlling Poverty, Ignorance and HIV/AIDS
v PUBLICATIONS
MEM will prepare MEM journal in which MEM’s plans , implementation and other daily activities will be presented. Children stories to be written by themselves and youth seminars will be presented in this journal .Having journal will simply , make easily recalling MEM activities and give message to the public about several activities done by MEM, children and youth or society at large for the sake of advocacy on Equity Quality Education for all, Children Rights, and methods of controlling Poverty and HIV/AIDS.
v RESEARCH
MEM will use reach as the method of collecting data about vulnerable children as well as children with special talents who need to be promoted.
v USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA
MEM will use social media like Facebook, Twitter, Blog,etc to report all undertakings and situational analysis from schools and society about Children, HIV/AIDS status, Poverty and other issues done and expecting to be done by MEM.
v OUTREACH PROGRAMS
MEM will organize several outreach programs aiming at visiting children in schools, orphanage centers and other areas with special need of counseling and education sharing
v PARTNERSHIP
MEM will not do everything independent, instead MEM will work in collaboration with other Organization and Individuals with similar activities .Also MEM will be hiring experts like Journalist, Project planners, HIV/AIDS training personnel, Entrepreneurial education personnel and other professionals.
v INTERNSHIP & VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
MEM will establish recruitment and posting of interns who are the teachers and ready to work as volunteers in different schools, MEM will recruit interns who can assist MEM staff in doing day to day MEM activities basing on their career and demand of MEM .Special forms will be feed by applicants then letter of application which will be supported by CV .However not all volunteers will be accepted , demand of organization and competence of volunteer will determine chance of success to an intern. Volunteer can be internal or external volunteer.
STRATEGY 1: ESTABLISHMENT OF CHILDREN COUNCILS IN THREE SCHOOLS OF EVERY DISTRICT
MEM focuses on establishment of Children’s councils in three sampled schools from Chunya district, Busokelo distict and Mbozi district council.Children councils are expected to be the engine of empowering children in terms of self expression and development of democratic leadership skills.
Approach: MEM has no source of fund for running these projects of children empowerment and capacity building, hence below is the budget to be shared by different stakeholders who can decide to support implementation of this plan.
STRATEGY 2: ESTABLISHMENT OF YOUNG REPORTES NETWORK
Empowering children will definitely enable them to demand their rights related to academic issues, hence this strategy focuses on training children who are the leaders from children councils on how to present their ideas through media as the way forward for communicating with the public about challenges that face children. Finally these trained children are expected to use media to make presentation on behalf of their fellow children.This will result into improvement of self expression abilities and children will get an opportunity of telling the public about what other children face which is likely to trigger academic development .
MEM will train 6 children at first , taking three girls and three boys ,just to prove that if children are trained can do better
STRATEGY 3:RECRUITMENT AND POSTING OF VOLUNTEER TEACHERS
MEM focuses on hiring graduates and ongoing University and college students mainly with science subjects to help teaching in rural areas basing on ward schools.Prefered subjects will be Basic Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry and English. However even other Arts subjects will be considered depending on the demand from schools
v Every teacher is expected to serve at least for three months. From every part of Tanzania to Mbeya
v Program will start in July after closing and final exams from most of the colleges and Universities.
STRATEGY 4: YOUTH ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS SEMINARS
v Targeted ones will be form four failures and others
v Experts with teaching skills and successful business will be hired
v Training will focus much on utilization of resources available in their areas like garden, bee keeping in modernized style, collective farming projects and business
v SACCOS ideas for BODA BODA drivers and trainees who will start up their business after attending seminars
v There will be registration fees which will be almost affordable
v Special plan of helping them to get loans will be organized
v Budget of this will be flexible depending on donor’s will to support
v At least every ward to be visited or two to three wards in every district
v This will be accompanied by situational analysis about form four failures and other youths , finally report will be written and presented in MEM journal
v Volunteers with skills and experience will be encouraged to support
